Ed Sheeran’s “I don’t care” hit the charts and was number 4 this week in the Billboard Top 100. Here is the video tutorial on the important things to keep in mind when practicing this song. I’ve also included a KARAOKE version for you to practice so Subscribe to the newsletter to download the MP3 file.

“I don’t care” is an easy song to sing. It doesn’t have a huge vocal range and it’s a sweet tune to perform. However, these are the things you need to keep in mind while practicing:

Fast-Passed lyrics

Practice reading the lyrics with the rhythm first (without singing them). This will allow you to get familiar with the timing, but also will help you get fluent with the flow of words.

Consonants & Legato

Since the lyrics should be sung fast, you need to focus on maintaining the connection from one syllable to the other, avoiding over-pronouncing consonants, and keeping the notes Legato. Remember that the airflow will help you sing Legato and connect the syllables in a flowing manner. For more information on how to sing Legato:

Breath Control

There isn’t always much time to breathe in between sentences. I’ve included a ‘ symbol in the places where you could breathe, but it is not a general rule, so it’s up to you to also determine what is more suitable for you. Here is a tutorial on how to correct your breath:
