The diaphragm is a myth. Don’t get me wrong, singing involves the diaphragm 100%. But we don’t have to entirely focus on the reflex of how the muscles work in order to sing.

For instance, do you ever wonder how your legs make you move from point A to point B?
No, you just get up and walk. Same thing when singing. Focus on your breath, and on maintaining a balanced airflow when you sing. It’s easier said than done because you need to practice.

In other words, the diaphragm is not an exclusive entity to focus on, instead, just inhale and sing. No matter what you try doing, you cannot control the diaphragm, and if you’re alive right now, it means that it is indeed doing its job.
