Hello everyone, I’m John Tracy and welcome to the Voice Guru!
I launched the Voice Guru channel in the purpose of making a better singer out of you. Here you will get familiar with advanced singing tips and technics by understanding the potential of your body and your mind. Just as sports, learning how to sing requires mental engagement as well. The voice is a reflection of who you are, and once that voice is developing, it means you are also growing as a person.
The voice is sheltered in the body
but lives in the mind
Fixing the voice is a matter of understanding the body, and who you are. By getting over your personal issues you get to build your singing voice, and vice versa. The body and the mind both cooperate together to help develop the voice and your identity. It works like magic.
My Story
I’ve been performing since I was a kid and a few years ago, I felt I needed a bigger purpose. Singing alone was not enough, I wasn’t collaborating in any way. I have been teaching voice for the 15 years and quickly I noticed how fun this was. The fact that I was making a huge difference in people’s lives made me realize that teaching singers will allow me to fulfill my mission. So by helping you, you’re helping me in return.
Anyone can SING
Having coached hundreds of singers, I’ve learned that singing can be done at any age and you can develop your so-called “talent” once you are determined and once you have the drive to become a better version of yourself, despite your age and your background. I believe in goal achievement rather than talent.
The Logo
I draw all the animations and sketches in my videos. They’re not perfect, but since singing cannot be seen or touched, the drawings are a good way to deliver the message in a clear manner. So the logo reflects not just my dexterity in drawing, but also the importance of the mind when you are a singer.

Hi, I’m the Voice Guru, but you can call me John Tracy. I live in Montreal (Quebec, Canada). I’ve been teaching voice and music for the past 15 years and hold two degrees in Opera and Vocal Jazz from the Conservatory in Paris (France) and McGill University (Canada).
